Enrollment / Swearing In Ceremony [MERGED]

There are most definitely trips to Canex during indoc, but no leisure trips. There will be, at the very least, one platoon trip (after you receive a pay advance from the cashier). We had other trips scheduled by staff on an as needed basis.

Agreed. It's good to have the manual accessible. If only it was adhered to by the letter!

A quick question about physical fitness

Read through the manual, and it's reinforced my opinion that everything is dependent on your boss, or in this case, PSP staff. "The head should not normally be cocked to look forward—such action is contraindicated..." Unless I'm reading this wrong, PSP staff told me to look approx. 18 inches...

A quick question about physical fitness

Good idea to do push ups the 'military way' (or, rather the PSP way). They were considerably harder for me when I got there. Hands should be directly under your shoulders, so that you can't see your thumbs (maybe hands? - I don't remember) when looking at your back. Go all the way down, without...

    On the fence

Everyone's working their hardest and you're looking for a Plan B? Don't you think that's something that should be done when you're...I don't know... off course? I like to put everything into what I'm doing (especially when it involves my career, but I guess everyone's different.

    On the fence

So, you want to be an amazing chef and don't agree with Canada's foreign policies... you CAN be ordered to fight with the C7 you'll be trained on. If you're not  willing to fight; regardless of the politics, in my opinion, you don't belong in the Forces. You'll need to decide why it's always...

    Packing for Basic [MERGED]

I guess. I've never used anything but the back of my combat legs to buff out a scuff during the day. Oh, and a little tip for those going in... Tie up your combat boots up as tight as you can and shower with them on after obstacle courses for an easy clean. wiping them down won't get them clean...

    Packing for Basic [MERGED]

I found a stiff nail brush worked better - easily attainable at canex. But def have to clean the soles of your boots.

BMQ / BMOQ - Medical, Dental, Mental health questions [Merged]

If you were given an offer, I'd assume worst case, your training will be delayed until you're good to go. PROVIDED you're not cleared medically. Eye in the sky is right though, it's WAY better to stay home and heal than go through the process at cflrs. Injured people go on the injured (A)platoon...
