Hi Gents,
Another AEV question for you. In late 2010 or early 2011 two stock Bundeswehr Dachs AEVs were obtained by Canada for training purposes in Canada due to the deployment of the Badgers in Afghanistan. The Bundeswehr crosses were painted over on the excavator arm and on the hull access...
I am not sure of the year. I am going to guess at the early SFOR days as the MEXAS is not mounted.
Here are other pics of SFOR Badgers....E42F, E25Z (this one I just found pics of), and E35F. So that makes 4 x AEV call signs during SFOR including 71C1. You can see how the various call signs...
Thanks very much for your reply.
I have several images of an AEV deployed with SFOR. My question then is directed at the call sign on the AEV. In three different pics there are three different call signs painted on the AEV.
7IC1- Badger AEV with MEXAS mounts but no MEXAS mounted.
E35F- Badger...
Hi Gents,
I'm assisting an author with research for a new Leopard book. For the Canadian content I would like to confirm the number of Taurus ARVs that deployed to Bosnia with IFOR and then transitioned over to SFOR as well as in Kosovo with KFOR.
There seems to be a bit of conflicting...
Hi Gents,
I'm assisting an author with research for a new Leopard book. For the Canadian content I would like to confirm the number of Badger AEVs that deployed to Bosnia with IFOR and then transitioned over to SFOR as well as in Kosovo with KFOR. The additional point would be the number of...
Ya, I saw it. It's only a CAD drawing so far...very common from my experience in working with Asian model producers...everyone jumps on the band wagon when a kit is released by another company. It's part of the competitive process....any attention is good attention. Don't count all blessings...
Thanks very much. I already have the book, I've seen the Cougar build previously, and I am involved in the conversion on Modern Canadian Vehicles.
Your info reaffirms the direction I am taking.
Cheers!
I thought I would go right to the proper source for answers to my question.
Does anyone have images of the interior of the original Cougar EROCs deployed to Afghanistan?
Images of the newer version Cougar with the raised roof were easy to obtain when they were on public display on bases and...
There's not kit or conversion available for the stretched M113A3 MTVL or the correct RWS or the bar armour package.
You can build an M113A3 TLAV with the French Best Value Models conversion found in France at Azimut.
Other than the Cougar up-armouring done in late 1994 with UNPROFOR (and then used with IFOR and SFOR) with the LAST package comprising of the ceramic tiles and PVC coverings were the Cougar AVGPs ever up-armoured with a similar MEXAS "light" armour package that was used on the Grizzly AVGP...
I think I managed to find an image of a trial vehicle. It looks like a Canadian M113A2 from the cam pattern, Diehl tracks, and the external fuel tank...
