It is common sense, and it is very simple. If someone wants to hurt someone and they have a weapon available, they will use it. This has been the case since humans learned to use tools.
I am not saying that gun control will prevent gun crimes completely. However, the more guns that are...
Common sense dictates that the more weapons available, the more weapon-related crimes there will be.
Now if everyone was to start having a gun, it would only increase the number of gun-related crimes. It is way easier to kill with a gun than with a knife or even bare hands.
It would be a very...
I am for one, against the changes to the SE benefit. Even though I know it has been abused, there is no reason to punish people for being separated from their families.
Before I joined I remember that it was one of the questions that I asked. If I had to pay for rations having a spouse (since...
I am very happy to be almost done. It has been a great experience overall. It was obviously hard, but if you put the effort and drive into it, there is no reason for anybody to not make it through the course.
Pre-VIMY and VIMY were definitely the hardest part of the course, but staying focused...
Our platoon average age is 32. So yeah there are lots of people over 35. I am 27 and I am one of the younger ones strangely enough. However, I think that this is something very unique to our platoon from what I see in the other ones.
I'm kind of curious about the second language training. I wonder if that happens after BMOQ, or after the Naval training is done.
My swearing in is on the 6th and I hope to have most of my questions answered on that day ;D
I will be also part of the team starting on the 15th. Looking forward to...
What a coward. And from his last name I assume he is from Spanish descent. What a shame for us with Spanish background. Why would you join something that is so clear, and then run away like a coward? Some people really disappoint me.
I did Math, so I did not get to work on my written skills that much. :blotto:
That's why I took some philosophy courses to work on that, but they are probably not as strict as other humanities. I could be wrong though!
Did I make a typo somewhere?
I thought my spell checking was on >:D
I guess all those philosophy courses did not help me at all for my grammar. I blame the excess of numbers in my degree!!! ;D
Yes, I am coming from Ottawa. I wanted to take the train, but there is no service on the 15th. So...
Follow the instructions guys, and we should all be alright!
Did you guys have your swearing-in ceremonies yet? I have mine on the 6th!
Look forward to meeting you on the 15th!
Alejo
Yeah you should have posted on existing threads. However, to answer the question I think the next NOAB will happen late winter/early spring 2011. Best of lucks!
While I am happy that I was selected without a need to go to an actual NOAB, I think that removing them completely will take off some of the essence of the selection system for the Navy. I would have love going to Esquimalt, but hey, not everything goes the way you plan it.
At least I have had...
I'm sure it was an interesting debate.
There is obviously more to being a leader than just holding a degree. And as you have said, a lot of good candidates are being ignored because of this education requirement, which is completely unfair!
Maybe things will change in the future, who knows...
Why so much anger in some of the posts?
I never claimed that having a degree makes someone superior, or a better leader, or anything like that. Heck, I didn't even mention my degree, which I don't feel is the hardest to get at all. Anyone with good study habits will surely graduate from math...
