    Aircrew Selection/ACS (Merged)

I think it all depends on how busy they are, how much they need pilots, and what the training backlog looks like.  For example, I did my DRDC medicals on April 19, and on April 27 I got an offer to attend BMOQ beginning April 30.  So 8 days in my case.  3 people from my aircrew group swore in on...

    Fighter Pilot

Yes & yes. By far the toughest decision in my 30 year life. But I'm proud I made it that far and made some good friends at ASC.

    Fighter Pilot

FWIW, I was on Aircrew Selection with a guy who had a psych degree, had no previous flying experience and he made it through and is on BMOQ as we speak. Also, I have  Mechanical Engineering degree with a 2.98gpa (not fantastic), and had an 80% avg in high school.  I got an offer in April for...

On the Job Training / Experience (OJT / OJE) [Merged]

Yes, I guess that's my real question here - is OJT in Saskatoon possible.  I'm planning on asking the RC, but I don't know if they'll be able to tell me that. Thanks for your replies.

On the Job Training / Experience (OJT / OJE) [Merged]

Thanks estoguy. There sure doesn't seem to be a shortage of what you can do on OJT/OJE, but I'm still curious if anyone knows whether Saskatoon or Dundurn is even an option for OJT/OJE. I realize the military puts you where they need you, I was just under the impression that OJT/OJE was more...

On the Job Training / Experience (OJT / OJE) [Merged]

I have a question regarding OJT:  I just got back from aircrew selection (passed for Pilot and AEC) and am curious about where I could be headed for OJT following BMOQ, should I receive an offer of course.  I live close to Saskatoon which has a recruiting center and I believe a couple of Reserve...

    ASC next week

I BELIEVE it's more for AEC and ACSO's.  Although it's never a bad idea considering there could be more aptitude testing coming our way (only my suspicion).  That being said, I haven't brushed up on any math yet and I'm a little concerned that it may come to haunt me.  I have all day tomorrow to...

    Application Process Samples [2003 - 2018]

Getting my study guide tonight.  Also my wife is going to bring me home a gr 10 & 11 math textbook from her school so I can review.  Other than that, might practice some instrument flying in flight simulator to work on my scan.  Wish me luck!

    ASC next week

Got my dates today for aircrew today - April 16-20.  I'm VERY excited and very nervous.  Going to the RC tomorrow to pickup my study guide.

Got my dates for aircrew selection...I'm giddy as a school girl.

    ASC next week

Good to know.  I realize that the CAPSS does not "fly" like an airplane and is a selection tool.  I hope what I can bring into the CAPSS is a decent instrument scan and knowledge of the instruments.

    ASC next week

Thanks, I am very excited and nervous.  I have a private pilots license so I think this will probably be my only shot at ASC since I don't think I could afford to get my commercial license just to re-do ASC. And yes, I am applying for direct entry.

Thanks for the info and congratulations.  Good luck with the offer!

    ASC next week

Just wondering how ASC went for both of you (nic32 & jpr)?  My RC is trying to schedule me in for mid-April and I can't wait to find out what dates I'm going.

App closed from last year, when to reapply?

If you browse jobs on forces.ca, there will be a check mark beside any trades that are accepting applications.  I can't say whether individual RC's will still accept applications if they aren't listed as accepting applications on the Forces website.

    DEO - Pilot - Questions

I don't know that officially, but many people on here have said that, and I also talked with a girl who failed aircrew and that's what they told her.

    DEO - Pilot - Questions

Well since 2008 actually, but after my file was closed the first time I thought that was my one and only chance.  Back then I didn't get to go to aircrew because of my eyes...I basically got ruled out at the local medical stage.  But alas, I have hope again and will wait however long I have to...

    DEO - Pilot - Questions

I originally applied in 2008 at the Saskatoon RC, did CFAT, interview & medical, but my uncorrected vision wasn't good enough so my file got closed.  I had laser eye surgery done in Dec 2009 then I re-applied at the Edmonton RC in April 2010 and re-did interview and medical in June.  I was told...
