It'll take me three years because of the drivers license! It's a pain, but that's how it is. (You get your learners for a year, then you are a probationary driver for two more in Alberta).
I'm 18 in a couple of weeks, and just graduated high school. Unfortunately, I was a bit of a numb nut...
Thanks for the replies.
I HAD read that thread already, but was hoping for some more in depth responses as to what the reserve combat arms are like, and what are peoples opinions on them. (The remark about the kit carrying you made me laugh!) Sorry for not being as specific as I could have...
I originally wanted to be a med tech in the CF, but I need a couple years to qualify still. During this time, I was thinking of joining the combat arms in the reserves (I live right in Edmonton). My mentality was "if I prove to be a good solider, than I'll prove to be an even better med tech!"...
Aqua- Barbie girl! ;D
Kidding! It's the Arrogant Worms for me.
"When I was a kid I wanted to grow up and be cop in a province town or county
I thought it would be great if someday I could only ever be a mountie
I wanted to beat up crooks and make arrests because that's part of the...

Even though the women had no idea about the military (one of the first things she asked was if he was a marine!) he was very patient with her, and she...
I am considering going for RN, actually! It's a bit up in the air at this point, but I would like to do something in the med field, you know? I've been looking at ROTP, as well as joining the reserve artillery, before remustering to med tech on the regular force.
Hmmm. I'm a wee bit intrigued...
I'm will be graduating high school soon, and have started seriously considering being a part of the medical Reserves.
It's going to take me a year to get everything I need, however. (Class five drivers, and chem). According to what I was told at the recruiting center, it can take between two...
Hey, I'm DEFINITELY happy I found this thread- I'm trying to decide between reserves and reg force right now.
I remember looking at the dates of each post and going "...what the heck?"
... is it bad that I thought "wow, she's TALL" when read about her height?!
This post just made me crack up into the HUGEST grin ever (I'm four foot nine when I'm not slouching). A lot of people worry that I'm gonna be STEPPED ON during Basic- this just shows that if you got what it takes...
