The math package on the QL3 is everything from simple arithmetic to power in, power out - that sort of stuff.  It goes from very basic to advanced.

Good call Crow - I didn't think of that!  That'll definitely get you ahead of the game though - that's for sure.  I forgot that the math pack is part of the 3's now.

Well I was reserve infantry beforehand and I turned out just fine :) I suppose anything Sigs related wouldn't hurt - failing that - possibly Int Op

Realistically - most Comm Rsch Ops don't deploy that quickly.  So please don't expect to deploy right off the bat.  Other advice is good though - stick it out - it's worth the wait.  The staff at the school is excellent and there to help.

Any crse is a good crse, just don't expect to use it right away in the trade.  As far as getting into the trade - shouldn't be a problem, just be patient.  Once you get in the trade and get all qualified, then you can look into specializing, etc.  Good luck

Last I heard we're still hiring - best to ask the recruiting center though.  QL3's are going fast and furious these days I think. 

That's a good question.  Is Comm Rsch Tp still part of CFSCE B Sqn for administrative reasons?  It would certainly be a big change for CFSMI, as they're probably not used to having that amount of students being farmed through at one time.  Interesting to see how this turns out........

One another point I would make.  As a soldier due to deploy within the next two weeks, the actions of the media on this matter would certainly make me think twice about wanting to talk to them in the near future.  Now we have seen some excellent reporting come out of theatre, namely Christie...

Hard to say, you start out by learning it on cards, so I suppose it would'nt hurt......10 wpm is pretty slow anyhow, you should be alright.....It's a great trade, just get through the QL3 and you're laughing, so many different things to do in this trade, it's amazing.

To echo Sneaky's comments, this trade rules....I'm getting ready to deploy right now as a 29 weiner...should be fun. Here's some good advice though: - Don't come off your QL3 expecting to deploy right away, get your QL5 done, then volunteer.  We're not in the habit of deploying non 5's qualified...

Maybe they were talking about a Bison, afterall, to reporters anything with more than 4 wheels is an armoured vehicle or a tank...I could see that being possible in the back of a Bison ambulance....if there's enough room for a stretcher.....:D

Kokanee I highly doubt that our CO would wrap your knuckles for trying to get a self help.  By all means, he may be the avenue to indeed get you a self help unit.  When I first arrived in Ottawa, they said that they did'nt have any self helps left for the single hands so they ended up putting 3...
