    Personnel Screening and other stuff

The reason for my confusion from the question in section 'C' is because the RCMP is a federal organization; however, I had a criminal background check completed by one of their municipal detachments. I still require clarification as to whether I should answer yes or no.

    Personnel Screening and other stuff

I have some questions regarding the security clearance form 330-60E and am clearly not the only one. Of all related threads I've read through, this one (despite being years old) contains the most relevant information and corresponding title. Is it possible to make this thread a sticky...

    BMQ 4-FEB-2013

    1. Your post is in the wrong section. 2 What 'hurdle' did you clear? 3. Career list?... are you referring to your application? 4. Read this: http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/13064.3450.html 5. No, we are not paid while waiting to start BMQ. 6. Thank you for being a volunteer firefighter.

    Tax Time

I was told to have a relative file my taxes and was advised not to file taxes with the assistance of services within Saint Jean. The recruiter told me he was bilingual when he went to CFLRS and found it difficult to access the most basic services in Saint Jean Sur Richelieu. I too, have been to...

    What does Brookfield offer?

Is signing up with Brookfield Global Relocation Services a compulsorily component of joining the Canadian Forces regardless if: we choose to live in the shacks, don’t maintain a residence, and have no dependents? Is it required that we open an account with them prior to leaving for BMQ? The...

    Packing for Basic [MERGED]

I must admit I was a bit confused when reading through the most recent version of the CFLRS Candidate Information Booklet as well where it instructs us to bring our own bathing suit; yet, one will be provided by the QM. Under annex B part 1 we're instructed to bring a matching face cloth, hand...

    BMQ 4-FEB-2013

I'm in (R25) R0484E. I'm guessing R0483E filled up. I was offered my position on December 21 2012. It was on the contract we signed. It states your trade, length of service, platoon number during BMQ, and a lot of dates you will need to know. You should a have copy in your recruiting package.

    Relocation allowance during basic

Sorry, I should have clarified that I was instructed recruits leaving from my local recruiting detachment (Moncton, NB) will be denied personal transportation or commercial transportation other than the travel arrangements predetermined by the recruiting center. If absolutely necessary, recruits...

    BMQ 4-FEB-2013

I live in Moncton too. I selected Avionics Technician because it's my dream job, not simply as a means of 'getting in'. Merry Christmas everybody, eat your Wheaties and I'll see you sometime in the new year!

    Relocation allowance during basic

On December 21 2012, I was informed by a corporal at my local recruiting center that personal transportation to CFLRS is not allowed. It was my intention to visit family in Montreal prior to BMQ, hence my reasoning for taking the train and creating this thread; however, the information passed to...

Enrollment / Swearing In Ceremony [MERGED]

I would go with a suit and tie, as I did for my interview. No matter what you choose, don't forget a poppy pin  :remembrance: and wear it properly on your left side!

Army Communication & Information Systems Specialists (Sig Op, Lineman and LCIS Amalgamation)

When I had my interview on October 16th there were still 129 ACISS positions open. I know this because ATIS is my second choice and the recruiter tried to convince me to choose ACISS as a third. AVS is my primary choice and where my heart is, so I left ACISS off my application. This was because...

    Relocation allowance during basic

Thank you for your input, I understand your perspective; however, the Canadian Forces provides transit between the Dorval station and Saint Jean, thus eliminating that $120 cab fare you mentioned. Currently Via Rail departing from Halifax to Montreal is $109.00 one-way including taxes and fees...

    Relocation allowance during basic

This is certainly a delayed reply: 6 months. If you get this message, I would like to know a bit more about discounted flights. From my experiences a Via-Rail day journey greater than four hours (category B in the original post), costs no more than $200 after taxes and fees from Moncton to Montreal.

    Relocation allowance during basic

I travel between Moncton and Montreal at least twice each year, and from experience the 17 hour economy class Via-Rail trip (fees and taxes included) is the least expensive means of travel to Central Station in Montreal. Usually West-Jet has discounted economy class fairs; however, air travel...

    Relocation allowance during basic

I joined this forum a few years ago and quickly adopted the 'shut-up-and-read-everything' strategy. I visit 'Army Forums' weekly as a guest and appreciate the contributions of all members. I feel guilty starting a new topic; however, I’ve been unable to locate any recent and relevant posts with...
