I just remembered that the Cpl at Royal Regiment of Canada who recruited me told us that he was going to France the following week to go for a special ceremony, and when I looked into it I found this article:

weekend BMQ/SQ courses are usually held at a unit's armoury, but during the summer they all stand down and go on summer training courses out of town (e.g. Toronto infantry regiments usually go to Meaford). good luck to you, hope it works out!
a few years ago I was very lucky to have the chance to go to Toronto's ETF station. Interestingly enough, one member of the ETF was apparently ex-JTF2, and another guy who went through ETF as bomb squad was (for lack of a better word) a bomb specialist in JTF2. he actually had his hand blown off...
are we talking about doing BMQ, etc while doing post-secondary and having that paid for by the CF? if so, I was told that you do the year or semester paying by yourself and then bring the transcript and tuition costs to someone and then they pay you back 50% up to $2 000 of the year's cost. So...
not to contradict your knowledge, but I was told by my co-op teacher last year, as well as a couple of friends who finished co-op BMQ/SQ last school year or are applying for this school year, that co-op students do get paid in this placement.

what unit are you applying for? I was told to contact Moss Park Monday for a specific MCpl. but I keep getting told he's not around and to call another day. maybe I should try dropping by the armoury later, it's a parade night.
hey yeah I"m actually in the same situation. I finished my application in May and have been calling continually. Finally two weeks ago they told me to call my unit - but the unit's recruiter has been away. Tomorrow I'm supposed to call because the guy's back in and talk to him, hopefully...
