    Army Communication & Information Systems Specialists (Sig Op, Lineman and LCIS Amalgamation)

    From my understanding (which is basically from the briefing, and mutterings going on), the QL3 will be common for all trades.  Some period after your 3's you will be tapped for either of the sub-trades or to remain as an Op.  It was unclear if people were going to have the choice or whether they...

    Army Communication & Information Systems Specialists (Sig Op, Lineman and LCIS Amalgamation)

    I'm not trying to protect the 'empire' and when the trades amalgamate, the only people that will be allowed to open the radios will be the ones sitting in front of a bench.  The same way it is now.  It's just not practical to allow this to happen in other avenues.  You said you had...

    Army Communication & Information Systems Specialists (Sig Op, Lineman and LCIS Amalgamation)

    First off, First-line maintenance does not mean you open radios up.  so if you suspect a radio is N/S you replace it and send it back to be repaired.  2nd line would be replacing cards etc.  I know the reserve supply/repair system is a little messed up, but the only person who should be opening...

    is it too late

    Again any opinion of mine would be speculation, the driving offences who cares.  But if you have an assault charge that may be an issue.  Again check out the website and give those people a call.  Best bet for a quick answer. Cheers

    is it too late

    I wasn't referring to the CIC when I posted the age limit, I was referring to other non-CIC positions.  I misread, I thought he was interested in re-joining the infantry or something.  Not knowing the specifics of the offences and what your record looks like, I wouldn't be able to say.  Two...

    is it too late

    Fear not, it's not too late.  You can still join the CF.  The age limit is 50 I believe.  Best idea is to go to a recruiting office and talk it over with them.  If the CIC interests you then for sure talk it over with the Cadet Corps.  As a side note some of the best candidates I've ever...

    PERs : All issues questions...2003-2019

    I never really understood the reasoning behind the DAPS system.  There are some great posts abve that have clarified it for me, though.  But, I'm still left with the question...why?  A person does not need to be a Master Corporal to hold a Mcpl position all they need is their superiors authority...

    LCIS227 Info

    Not entirely correct.  I've been out of Kingston for 2 years now, and have never seen/heard about a OJT package and neither have any of the other LCIS Techs here.  As for the Spec pay,  you will not get the entire spec pay until you complete a QL5.  You will be getting a lesser amount,  they...

    PERs : All issues questions...2003-2019

    MdB, Just for clarity, in the NCM ranks there are only 4 pay level incentives.  So, after being in rank for 4 years you've had it, no incentives after that.  So, what incentive does an 8 year Corporal have, to do better?  Not Much.  I know there are a lot of ppl who contradict that last...

    General Question About Insignia

    Hey, Just caught this post... I found this website that shows all the various badges worn by the Canadian Airborne Regiment.   It shows all of the ones we use on our uniforms still, as far as what you need to wear the different ones I think that the red leaf means they are qualified Basic...

    HMCS Chicoutimi {MERGED}

    The way I understood it the brits were responsible for supplying us with a working boat... as it isn't a working boat why do we have to take care of it?  It be like me buying a car, driving it off the lot and blowing the engine, and them telling me of well it's yours now.  As if.

    HMCS Chicoutimi {MERGED}

    I was browsing through some news sites anc came across this, I find it very peculiar that we would be taking possession of a broken ship.  Why wouldn't we just make the brits fix it rather then ship it back to Canada and then worry about fixing it here? Crippled Canadian submarine loaded onto...

    The Supplementary Reserve.

    When I was in the Reserves, I remember hearing that if you were in the supp reserve you still had to parade at least once a year... Being that I haven't been in the reserves in like 4years, I'm kind of curious to see if this is still true or if it ever was, anyone know?

    LCIS227 Info

    Well, nope wasn't me who said it... but I did just sign my 20 year IE.  I guess I'm tethered to the machine for good now :) Previously I had some computer tech experience as well as some High school electronics and OAC Maths etc. It's not too terribly difficult in the math end, but I would say...

    LCIS227 Info

    Hey Tyson, and welcome to the site. 1. Here's the deal with LCIS,  first off most of your time will be consumed with fixing problems other ppl create(I think statistics state like 80 percent of all trouble tickets are from ppl error, instead of equipment breakdown),  I love my job, and I don't...

    Accessing the DIN?

    The only way to access the DIN remotely is by using a DVPNI account.  To have a DVPNI account you need a special account setup and a laptop or desktop configured with the DVPNI software.  Those are the requirements.

    Posting as a CSS

    Though it would be less likely, it's not improbable, There are positions available in Trenton, also at CFS St. Johns.  There are positions available for LCIS Techs everywhere.  PM me your email address and I'll email you a copy of the position listing for LCIS Techs.  Cheers.
