Rather than have a discussion on why CF officers are not allowed to carry firearms, scott thought it better to say "because its not allowed"  and locked the thread.  Maybe this is why it took women so long to actively serve?  With attitudes like this, i am forced to declare this forum...

Lets hear your feelings on this particular concept, then.  For or against carry permits for serving officers of the CF?

Any citizen should have the right to protect himself and his fellow citizens-  as a forces member, i should think this a concept you'd understand.

I believe they are, though they are so rare as to be ALMOST nonexistant.  *sigh* unfortunate, in any case.

Can anyone tell me what the sidearm carry policy is for officers in the CF?  I shoot IDPA here at home and wonder also about carrying my own personal piece; is this even possible?  Can officers in the CF be issued concealed carry permits here in Canada?  I ship out for BMOQ in two weeks, and...

Hah! November '08!  Fingers cross'd for a phone call this fine April.  I've been merit listed for over a year now, so???  I think i might actually be going down in history as the most tenacious pilot applicant in the CF;  note to aspiring young-uns:  try not to destroy your body too badly...

I'm not sure that you understand how fine the line is between H2 and H3.

"standards" are not standards, they are guidelines.  If your condition ( such as a slight loss of hearing in one of six frequency ranges in one ear, say, the left one from shooting a lot, as is the case with many who have an extensive history with firearms use [which i would think a boon]) can...
