    Hearing Conservation

WHAT? (kidding, kidding). Do members of the CF get hearing tested every year? I know in my work (framer) we are required to. We get this neat little card you have to carry around, and show compo if they ask.

Doctors Remove Ammunition From Soldier’s Head

I knew I had seen this a while back - (there's a few pictures of the surgery, not too gory, but warning nonetheless) http://www.militarytimes.com/multimedia/video/?bcrefid=808163493#/Live+RPG+removed+from+soldier/51745112001 A soldier was hit by a RPG, and it lodged in his abdomen. It was...

    Favorite Regimental Tunes

I'm quite partial to The Maple Leaf Forever... and I really like a version of British Grenadiers I heard that was mixed in with voice of the guns. 'Hey, can you guys play The Maple Leaf Forever?' - 'No Sir, our arms get tired after a while!'  :)

    Musicians in Reserves

I looked into this as well, and played as a civilian augmentee with several regiment bands. Reg bands (there are only a few) are extremely hard to get in to. From what I've been told, pretty much the only way to get in to one is to first get in to a reserve band, wait for an opening, and then...

    Questions about the C79

That's what I was thinking - ie 1MOA = approx 1" @ 100m. However, it is more than a little out of my lane, so no more from me :)

Army songs (Like the one when graduating at the BMQ)

I really used to dislike the pipes, until I started playing in regiment bands. Now, I'll listen to them whenever I can. One of my favorites - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3KDU3jOxcE - it's not very fancy, but it was played by Piper James Richardson as he piped troops over the top in WWI.

    Pith Helmet Whitening

Well, after doing a short parade last Saturday, there are only two yellowish helmets in the band. You can only tell when they are right beside each other... I'll just have to wait until more become available, and then exchange it for a newer one. I find that the new helmets don't yellow, it's...

    CFP202 - Band Instructions

Hello - Does anyone know where I can find a pdf copy of CFP202 - Band Instructions? I don't have access to the DIN (I'm a civilian who plays with the local regimental bands). I have found CFP201, but 202 would be nice for all of the mace signals etc. My googling and searching the forums have...
