Pick the right trade at the begining!

There is another angle to look at this subject from. Even if a recruit has done proper research about the type of trade that would interest them, its often the rumours they hear at BMQ that make them doubt that decision. One of my sons had made a firm decision for which trade to apply for, and...

Another Young Soldier GTG, no video :(

OH wow...Thank You so much kind Sir.  This will definitely put some smiles on faces here on the homefront. The phone went silent when I told my Son that I had no video, has been a bad few days for him since the ceremony. It seems He was supposed to come home with us, but someone messed up and...

Another Young Soldier GTG, no video :(

Yes He was recording video. That would be great if you think you can arrange that. His Son was in Vimy Platoon, where mine was in Atlantic, but I think He taped all the awards. Thank You

Another Young Soldier GTG, no video :(

Yesterday (Dec 6) the Wife and I attended BMQ grad at CFB Borden. It was a very proud day for our family, as our youngest is now officially a Soldier. His Brother graduated from St Jean in May 06 and is now an Armored Crewman in Afghanistan. There were some differences between the 2 graduation...

    Air Defense Role for 2007

Its good to hear such positive comments from all of you in the know. Even if it means alternatives to current hardware is the answer, it seems likely that AD is not a "Dead trade". I guess all things considered, my Son's instructor is likely just "busting his chops", and that's OK.

    Air Defense Role for 2007

All of this conjecture about whether or not there is a future for AD Artillery is very interesting to me, especially since my youngest Son is at BMQ right now and was recruited as a Bird Gunner. If the trade is dying they shouldn't be wasting his time, and turn him into field artillery now, well...

    Flags of Our Towns

I mentioned to the local newspaper Editor a while back that there are 3 young men from our town currently serving in Afghanistan, hoping that they may get a little recognition for the good work they do in serving our country. His response was, "oh yeah?, we should send the town flag over there...

Zeitgeist movie exposes Christianity, 9/11, and the United States Federal Res.

Simple explanation as to why the conspiracy has not been fully exposed. The Conspirators were all asked to come to a meeting where the importance of keeping this secret was on the agenda. This meeting was on the 90th floor of the North Tower.  :) I know that was in poor taste, but let Me put it...

    Tense Standoff

http://canadianpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5gi86XgL-yneEDYhwHlDQNx5JEFSA As a civilian trying to understand the mission in Afghanistan, this story was absolutely frightening to Me. Three things: :bullet: Glad the Gunner on the Nyala wasn't charged. (Just my opinion) :bullet: The Afghan...

Chinese Defense Minister Gives Speech About WAR plans against the United States

He notes the need for a quick, effective biological attack upon the U.S. to depopulate it as a prelude to conquest, and plainly states that China is working on genetic bio-weapons to kill everyone except "yellow people." Thats where I lost interest. I think there will be more inteligence in the...

    Son called home

GAP, I was the same way growing up, thank goodness My Kids don't do that to me. One Son in Afghan, one at BMQ, and Daughter in Thailand teaching so we burn up the long distance comms. However, in Our generations defence, it is easier now for them than it was "back in the day", you know, before...

    Son called home

My Son called home today from Afghanistan. Everything I was planning to talk about was forgotten the second I heard his voice, but we still managed to fill every moment. I have always been a worrywart, even when He went away on school trips, so this time that He is over there is especially...

    Drivers from Small Town

I am seeing now after more research that the numbers are only inflated as we see them locally, but not really all that high when compared to other places (Like Proms town) Not sure how many Leo drivers are in Afghanistan currently, but having 3 of them from the same small town must be unusual...

    Drivers from Small Town

Just heard on the news that 102 recruits were sworn in yesterday in Nova Scotia. Defense Minister Peter MacKay was there to make a speech, that would have been a nice ceremony to attend. Hopefully 80 or more stick with it through BMQ.
