    Congrats 3RCR

CTV News Channel showed the entire 3RCR Colour Presentation but did not show the parade marking the 200th anniversary of the Battle of York afterwards. CBC Newsworld gave the presentation only spotty coverage between other news stories. 3RCR looked very smart, a job well done.  :salute:

    Its all Greek to Quebec

I wonder how much tax money Ottawa collects from Quebec citizens vs. the amount of money it sends back as equalization payments. Quebecers pay the highest taxes in Canada. We pay income taxes to both Ottawa and Quebec. We pay the GST of 5% and a PST of 9.5%. None of the oil used in Quebec comes...

With a little searching I found the following: http://www.militarybruce.com/history/base-history_8.html I also found references to some Norseman aircraft being sent to No 6 REMU in November 1945 in Mont Joli Quebec showing that the unit wasn’t disbanded in Moncton, but was moved to Mont Joli.

    No. 6 REMU RCAF

Thank you for the answer, but now what is the difference between a Repair Depot and an REMU? From what I found on the internet it appears that the REMUs have something with the storage of equipment and aircraft after they were retired from active service, while the Repair Depot is for equipment...

    No. 6 REMU RCAF

My dad was an electrician in the RCAF during the Second World War. The finial unit that he was posted to was the No. 6 REMU in Moncton NB, between 16 Feb and 1 July 1945.  My question is what is an REMU?  Before this he was with the No. 21 Repair Depot also in Moncton.

Did Nazi scientist save Allies from Hitler's deadly gas?

My understanding was that Hitler himself had opposed the use of chemical weapons on the battlefield. He had served in the trenches during WW1. When the war ended he was in hospital recovering from gas exposure. If the Germans did use poison gas the allies were prepared to do so also. They had...

Brains of liberals, conservatives structured differently

Also we do not know how good the science is. Was it a truly objective study or was there a bias in the findings? As for sample size, it most likely was limited by budget and by access to the brain scanners.  The telling point would be if others researchers can repeat the study and get similar...
