People with extensive educational credentials - like doctors, dentists, nurses, engineers, etc. - may also have significant debt from student loans.  If you're paying $15,000 a year on your student loans, it's pretty hard to raise a family on a 2Lt's salary.

Are you talking about the recruiters at the CFRC?  I think the general rule is, don't ever expect to hear back from a CFRC.  You need to call them, and if you don't get through to a person, try again later.  And of course, going in to the centre in person boosts your chances of getting what you...
