Canada needs own medal to honour citizens' service in Far North

FYI. The article in the journal was accompanied by a photo of Mr. Mardon. He was wearing the Order of Canada plus, three medals. It's a black and white photo, however, one of the medals was definately the 125. Is the Order of Canada and the 125, recognition for his accomplishments in the far...

the red-headed manner is what is required from time to time.  :) As far as keeping you out of trouble ...hmmm ... I have a hard enough time keeping myself out of trouble (at times). But your right, some good times were had at those conferences. Also, it just dawned on me ... the MCpl that...

Purple Trades: Definition & Trg Discussion

Excellent post. I am out of the system (Supply) now but I have long advocated for the Supply trade to do the same. Can't speak for the other Logistic trades (although I do have an opinion .. :)) .... their is a reason why the EME Branch is stronger and their affiliation and idenity greater then...

Hi Vern. I suspect the story is a bunch of bull. Sad. Give the supervisor in Edmonton a call. You know him well. He's a civilian. I think I'll check this out as well  :) There is no SGT working in Clothing Stores in Edmonton ! ..  Take care Scott

You have a good bunch in Gagetown. Tell Les - Edmonton beckons his return. We could use his quitar out here for the Logspiels.

Well, if I was down there longer ...I most certainly would. I'm sure Kevin and Les could both use a good slap ..lol .. :) . I'll be in Shediac for a week (investment shopping/ second home) visiting my sister and PEI for an evening visiting my father-in-law. If I get bored - I'll travel that...

Roy - just noticed your post. Couldn't have said it better. Sadly, this applies with most trades. I think we all felt that sense of loss in confidence in the '90's (Process Re-Engineering ..yeah, right !! ) Vern. Good news reference MIS. It should never have disappeared. As far as the job goes...

    Son called home

How true GAP. Although, using the HAM was never a joy. I was single and in Egypt (UNEF II) closing it out in '79 and I think I called home once. My son is over Afghanistan as a civilian. He spent two years in Kabul. About 6 months ago, he left for Kandahar and I think I've heard from him once...

Keeping wounded in CF - merged super-thread

I think its an option (a choice for that member) that has to be explored. I spent time as a CSM in Petawawa and saw too many good soldiers injured (or for other medical conditions) in Garrison, forced out.  As for soldiers injured in combat .....my opinion  ...... yes, its a different matter. ...

Keeping wounded in CF - merged super-thread

Only a suggestion. And no one said changing the system would be easy. Clearly something has to be done to retain good soldiers currently being forced out. As for insulting. Perhaps to some. But my wife would have gladly taken a drop in pay to stay in the Military. Instead, because of a broken...

Keeping wounded in CF - merged super-thread

Agree. There have been many good soldiers forced out of the system that could have added great value in our training system. Adjust the Pay Scale and insert a couple of columns. We already have Basic, Spec 1 , Spec 2 .... Why not introduce something to the effect of Column 1: Basic ; for...
