I had no idea we could buy any of the stuff on base. My recruiter told me what I needed after the job offer. When I went to swear in one of the recruiters said we could wait until we get to basic to buy the stuff. Oh well, at least I have everything for sure

I wrote my GED at the age of 19. I was probably one of the more young people there. Most were at least 40+ Your grade 12/GED is always a good thing to have if the military does not work out. Grab a GED book, look it over and do the test. Its not that bad of a test.
MedTech, he never said he had something better to do. He just wanted to know what was going to happen with that five hours. I'd wonder too.
Mine is only a half hour....what they told me anyway. I get there at 9:30 and swear in at 10:00

This seems like the best place to ask about experiences as a lot of people have been through it. My friends and family have not been through this kind of thing.
So I told my girlfriend I'm leaving for basic next month. It was not a surprise. She knew I was applying. All the sudden she is yelling at me for anything and everything. Calling me a cheater with girls and everything. Any time I try and talk to her she yells more. Has this happened to anyone...
