    Canadian military motorcycles

For what it's worth, my father was a DR in the RCSC in WW2.  His first bike was a Brit piece of trash called a J.A.P. .. what ever it was.  The DR's were told they would not be issued a new Harley until their old bike were no loner repairable.  Well to make this a short story, he had an...

    Whole Iltis Purchase

Cheap and BC do not go together...BC means Bring Cash...as I found out when I moved here to retire.  I will be moving back to Edmonton.

    AESOp ( MOC 081)

Because of the cost of training, and to help with pay one needs rank, so unless they promote right after wings, there will be some hard feelings among those who have to put some time in before being promoted to Corporal.  But then again, they could do what they did in WW2 with Sgt pilots...

    In-Cockpit Video: Bird Strike

Yep, a 1/4 inch nut would destroy a jet engine, and those blades are nasty when they let loose and come through the casing.

    AESOp ( MOC 081)

When I re-mustered to MOC 081, we were called Observers.  And yes, the only places that knew what we were were on the Maritime Bases.  In my day we only had three aircraft, Argus, Tracker and the Sea Thing.  I was lucky, I was on the Argus in Summerside 1973-75. I think the trade should remain...

    In-Cockpit Video: Bird Strike

Too bad he busted up his leg, but at least he is alive.  With luck he will get his medical category back and fly again.  I've attended too many funerals where the crew did not make it out.

Good one...the bed time story. ;D  And what is wrong with the Air Force... I think it was Churchill who coined the phrase, "Gentlemen of the Air Force." As I said, the stories kept a number of us on the straight and narrow, and out of trouble. Thanks

Browning Hi-Power on G&A Top 10 Handguns that Changed History

I also saw a BHP in a gunshop that had the old Nazi Eagle with Swastika stamp on it.  Evidently it was manufactured in Belgian during the Nazi occupation.  That was the story I was told... any feedback?  Just wish I had the money to buy it...oh well.

    9mm, Too old?

A number of years ago I bought an Inglis (BHP) from a gun shop in Edmonton.  It was still packed in the factory grease.  It was the Naval version with ramp rear site, and grove in  the handle to fit a stock.  I used it for a couple of years, then when I had the cash had it re-worked.  Top of the...

    AES Op ( MOC 081)

I was a 081 back in the early 70's.  We were called Observers, but now I'm dating myself.  To get an A2 on your medical, you get that when they send you for your Air Crew medical.  The Flight Surgeon will check you out.

Just joined your forum.  I started in the Army in 1965, then saw the light and switched to the Air Force.  But anyway, what my post is about is:  As a young lad going through training, they scared the crap out of us...the word was Valcartier. We were told the DB was run by the Vandoos and they...
