Please eat!! I had some cadets who felt they were fat and refused to eat for the last 2 weeks of camp. I had to bring in the "eating parade", where cadets from various platoons in my company had to come with me though the line, be forced to get a full and proper meal, and then had to sit with me...

    2835 Niagara Falls Cadets

I agree with the hours...the Duty gods loved you. I kept tellin you to get that sign looked at...but being you, you refused to go the the MIR. ;D I had a few run-ins with the MPs, good ole MCpl Francuz knew me well. Three hours in the MP shack, almost 4 that night. That was also the night the...

    2835 Niagara Falls Cadets

LOL Sarah....perhaps i was living in a dream world...or that might have been the sleep deprivation...i think we might have to test that theory that your corps could take mine. Since neither of us are cadets anymore, it should be interesting to see. And to the Zedic...we know that Blackdown is a...

    FTX stories

I believe that ham steak in any of its forms was absolutely disgusting...remember ham steak and pineapple, ham steak and mustard sauce and the last in line, ham steak and raisin sauce. YUCK!! As for other IMPs, i think that chicken stew with rice or ravioli are definitely the best. no other...

    Blackdown Photographs

Thanks for the link. I'll make sure i pass it on to some of my former cadets that completed alpha as well as alpha staff cadets. The picture of the band's entrance out of the smoke is amazing, i know that Drum Major Broom ( pictured) would love it. Thanks again.

    I miss Blackdown

Macleans magazine sent a reporter to Blackdown this past summer to do a story about the cadet movement diversifying and becoming more inclusive. They have a great photo link on their website, along with the original story. The photos really show the changes in blackdown, even from just 4 or 5...

    Artillery Cadet Units

I did see that 2835 is mentioned....as I previously stated, 2853 was not mentioned...it happens to be the sister corps to 2835, as might be obvious by how close our numbers are... 2853 is afflilated with 56 Field, 69 Battery...i believe that is clarification enough

    2835 Niagara Falls Cadets

I happen to be good friends with a few of your members, including Sarah Stewart and Jenn Conte...both of whom i had the privilege of working with as Blackdown Staff, 2004 and 2005. My home corps happens to be your sister corps, 2853 Simcoe Cadet corps, affiliated with 69 Battery and 56 Field.  ;D

Definitely bring extra everythin. Civvies are now acceptable at Blackdown, although only jeans may be worn on free time...if your company allows you too. Both years that i did staff, 04 and 05, we refused to let our cadets. Civvies should only be for staff that have done their courses and earned...

    Joining Cadets as an Instructor\Volunteer

I simply went to the CO on a regular parade night and expressed my interest in volunteering. Within a few weeks i was monitoring classes. Be warned, paperwork can take a long time to go through, so do all you can to make it go smoothly to get it through the chain of command quickly. Good luck...
