Just wondering if anyone has come across a replacement for the good old log books?
I've have seen some places that have automated logs by having make-shift Excel documents to track all logs. Pretty redundant though as the Duty O insisted on having a computer log as well as a working log book. ...
I've searched myself and come up empty handed, maybe someone knows something I can't find.
Someone told me about a recent Canforgen about claiming a certain amount of tips (gratuities) while on TD - anyone hear of this or have links?

I'm wondering if any of the operators out there can give there input on their own GPS training to date. Whether it be PLGR or DAGR - or both.
In particular, I'm looking to see where you were taught. On course at CFSCE, standalone course at the unit, or "Here's a GPS - go play"....that kind...
Does anyone have a ref/link to policy on parking of military vehicles indoors?
I've always heard things like "If the vehicle requires a key, it must be in the ignition" and "Vehicles with a driver's hatch or ramp, must be left open". I thought this was all to do with the possible evacuation...
A little fun topic of funny things heard on the radio. Share yours, I've heard a few doozies myself over the past X years.
I've heard a Coy OC (let's say C/S 39) with the annoying habit of always giving the "out" to Zero. I don't want to argue the rules of the ACP 125 or anything - but he...
I hear lots of equipment related questions (here and elsewhere) and just wanted to share this location for those with DWAN access: http://dglepm.ottawa-hull.mil.ca/dlcspm/index_e.htm
I've used it in the past and continue to use it as a first stop to most equipment related questions. Of course...
So I've always heard that MEWT stands for Mobile Electronic Warfare Team - however a co-worker is arguing that the "T" stands for Technologies. Here is why - http://www.ottawa.drdc-rddc.gc.ca/html/CNEW-226-mewt_e.html Damn Google.
Any references or experts that can prove which is correct...
Did a search and could not find this already. And I'm aware this one could easily be moved.
Saw this today - DWAN access required of course - http://kingston.mil.ca/notices/2007/10/ballistic_glasses.asp (NOT FOR THE LIGHT OF STOMACH TYPE)
For those with no DWAN access:
<<Sgt Murgais, from 5...
Can anyone tell me if the Coyote would ever be referred to as a RRU? Or perhaps there is a version of it referred to as a RRU?
I overheard the term used and wasn't sure what the real deal is. Figured I'd go direct to the source. ;D

Does anyone have a list of employment opportunities in their (or other) respective areas?
In speaking with some friends of different areas, it seems that job ops kind of float around as others see fit. Please don't tell me to see the OR or unit Rep - this is a "go away and bug someone else"...
So being in a position where I see much of the new - I now there is much more to talk about than the few topics that come up one or twice a week.
Come on ladies and gents. This is the Comms section. Shouldn't WE of all sections be "communicating" more than the rest.
Sorry - just a bit...
Firstly, I'd like to say that I feel I've looked around enough and have had no luck.
I get a Zero Sized reply when trying to open the document here
I'm looking for a link to the CFTDTI - that works. Anybody know anything about this?
As well, since the change over to the forces.gc.ca model...
I've done a few searches and turned up nothing which is directly related to my question.
I've also searched through the QR&O's and CFAO's to no solid conclusion.
Does anyone have first hand experience with the Release of a Res Member on a Class B Contract? I found the format I'm looking for...
Anyone know the whereabouts, or contact info for this guy named in subject line?
Description - About 6ft, 220lbs (probably 240 by now), shaggy blonde hair - needed a haircut back then - probably still needs one now, he spent a few years up in Pet with Sigs (97-01??). Famous quotes include...
Ok - so we all make little mistakes. This post is not to make fun of those of us who make them (none of us are perfect.....yet). I just wanted to bring up a few common "trade related" misconceptions/errors we have about equipment, terms, whatever. So hey - join in and learn something that you...
Sorry if anyone finds this not of "C&E" relation, but it's where I normally post.
If you've been to your Base Post Office lately, you may have noticed the photo of the Postal Unit CO on the wall (as is the case with any unit I suppose). But why this photo would stand out from any other is up...
Just wondering if anyone has ever heard this term "NIS". It was in a lesson plan someone came across today. Thinking it may simply be a typo. But who knows?
Pat on the back to whoever can hit me up with an answer. References would help too.
Don't everyone refer me to the CF Abbreviations...
Who can tell me if a Signals Troop/Platoon/Sqn is called a Sig Troop or Sigs Troop?
The way I remember it from the past, was......for example........HQ & Sig Squadron - but I've heard some people corrected for incorrectly calling it the HQ & Sigs Squadron. :tsktsk: Apparently HQ & Sigs is...
I would like to share with all of you, my document I typed up of a proper Recce Patrol Orders format - BUT, I can't find it. I'm going to look around again as I believe this could be VERY handy for those of you who use them often OR figure you'll be on a leadership course in the near future.
I...
