    A Road Not Taken

Lately I've noticed that there has been something missing on this site. Then I realised that it was the distinct lack of Paracowboyness that only  (interestingly enough) Paracowboy can provide. P.S. Paracowboy, will you adopt me? I know it might prove difficult to do it legally, (what with me...

    Thyroid Condition

Well I have a thyroid condition which I take medication for and I just received my letter saying that I am good to go medically. Now for the fitness test. Good luck to your wife.

How to lose weight in a healthy way (merged)

Alright here's my ever so controversial weight loss plan. I'm not a nutritionist, but it worked for me. After reading a great little book called "The no-grain Diet" by Dr. Mercola, and following his diet, I lost a lot of weight. Basically it's a low carb diet. I didn't eat any grains at all...

I *will* get flamed, but it's worth it. - PT Test

    By "dancers", I mean strippers.

I *will* get flamed, but it's worth it. - PT Test

Actually, "dancers" are hired because they're thin, which doesn't equal in shape. Most "dancers" are too strung out on coke to fit that 2.4 run into their busy schedule. Anyways, this has nothing to do with the original topic so I'll just shut up now. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

Asthma & the CF (merged thread)

Hey, When I did my medical I wrote on the form that I had a "history" of asthma because I was once prescribed an inhaler, (the doctor thought with my cold at the time that I "might" have asthma). The medic told me that I would have to prove that I did not have asthma by getting a doctor's note...

    Personal Trainer Advocates

Thank you for this post Rhino! I have a little personal story to go along with it. I had been working hard to get into shape so that I would do well at BMQ. I decided that I should get a trainer to help me get stronger (damn chin-ups). My first session with him lasted 2 hours, I usually do not...

    Knee Braces

Wow, I didn't realize this was such a sensitive subject. First of all, thanks to all who responded and gave advice and/or encouragement. Secondly, I have not lied about my knee and have no intention of collecting a check if I do get injured. I just know that joining the army is a big goal I have...

    Knee Braces

Thanks Paracowboy! You're right. I guess I just don't want to look like an idiot or let down the team. But then, that's the wrong attitude too. I'll do the best I can.

    Knee Braces

I've passed my medical. I'm planning on joining the local reserve unit which is an infantry unit. I'm new to this stuff, so I'm not sure what trade I'll go for. The Sergent at the unit said that I would probably become a driver. I really want to join and I'm thinking that the reserves is the...

    Knee Braces

This might sound weird, but my main concern about joining is jumping. You see I had knee surgery years ago and although it is fine now, it does get sore sometimes (usually after I've run for three to four days straight). I know I can handle the running involved but I'm concerned about basic...

    Fitness test

When they tell me I can, I will. Do I have to set up the appointment myself or do they do it for me? Thank you for the luck!

    Fitness test

Hey you guys. Once you do your physical test, is the process quick after that? I'm still waiting to do mine and I know that basic training with the local reserve unit begins in November. Do you think I'll be in by then?

    physicall fitness for reserves

I want to know the same thing. I can do all the requirements, except chin-ups. What happens if I go to basic training and can't do the minimum? I'm female so I'm supposed to be able to do 3. Why aren't they a part of the physical test? Not that I want to be.
