My father was a Marine electrician before he took his commission, apparently you learn a lot that would help you get a good electrical job in the civi world if you choose to get out later. My dad really liked the trade. I can't tell you much more than that, but good luck with your application.

There is no combined course this summer, IAP and BOTP are still run separately. As already stated the BOTP course is now longer so I don't think you are going to see a combined course any time soon. It sucks for the people who are exempt from SLT that they can't do their CAP, NETPO or whatever...
