CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

If that were GT giving him the finger wag, he'd give speeches about how honoured he was to be berated by such Lefty Royalty. It would occupy an entire chapter in his upcoming memoirs; it would be referred to on the future Talk Circuit - a humourous reference to particular time during his years...

Opportunity to update the CC-150 fleet?

I’d prefer that it said RCAF instead of “Government of Canada”

Harmful Masculinities and the Threat to Force Readiness in the U.S. Military

I wanted to give 2 thumbs up. One for St. Jordan and one for Sir Merle. My Dad had that Merle Haggard Tribute album to Jimmie Rodgers and he played it over and over. 2 thumbs up!

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

How has the work been progressing on the JSS? I read in a post a few months ago on here that a strike at Seaspan had halted construction. HAs the strike been resolved and construction resumed? Our navy needs that ship desperately.

CBC Interview with new RCAF Commander

I thought you were going to say they asked about sexual misconduct. Or how people of colour are mistreated in the RCAF. Or how he plans to recruit and accommodate LGBTQ members. Or how he plans to do to recruit, promote and retain more Indigenous members. Or what pronouns he prefers. We are...

    Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ship AOPS

Strange but true..... Today, while vacationing with my family on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, I looked offshore and saw what looked like a naval vessel in the distance. I said to my son, "That looks like a Harry DeWolf class ship!" I instantly recognized the two large recesses in the side...

    Cormorant Crash - Gander - 10 Mar 2022

It's there, the tail. It's laying on it's side in the right of the photo. The object farthest to the right on the CBC article.

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

I’m not sure if Kirkhill is supporting that those two vessels are similar or not. But to me they look very similar. Move the main bridge structure forward and remove a RAS station and you are left with a ship with a larger flight deck. Even the rake of the bow is similar.

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

I agree that long-term, 3 yards are probably one too many. However, the reality is we need ships now and this helps get them faster. And throwing money around because of election politics is as old as the country itself. What's different about this scenario is that this time the money is...

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

Very cool photo.  Unfortunately it has been recently reported that both of the two hulls tied up at Irving are going to be late, again.  I am sure that Irving is doing whatever they can to milk extra money out of the Federal Government.  Several months from now we will be forced to listen to an...

    Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ship AOPS

I asked the same question on September 27...all anyone can say is we are getting close.  I did find one reference to her sea trials on Halifax Shipping news: https://blog.halifaxshippingnews.ca/2019/10/aops-2-launch-delayed.html In the article he ties the launch of AOPS2 to the seatrials of HDW...

    CH47 Chinook

The article says "four" aircraft.  I thought they had five altogether.  Six were originally purchased and one was destroyed by fire after being shot at.
