    Academic Recognition of Military Experience

Another option which no one seems to have mentioned yet is Royal Roads University in Victoria (www.royalroads.ca).  While I didn't get any credits for my mil experience (apparently being an Artillery officer has very little to do with getting an MBA...), their flexible admission process...

Lather, Rinse, Repeat: Life at Kandahar Airfield

KAFoodie, just read your blog, couldn't help but laugh.  I'm now using it to tell people what life is like over here, especially now that you've branched out from just reviewing DFACs.  Keep up the good work!

Sig Op, Task Force Positions, Digitization SP?

Just as a side note, it's Mission Transition Task Force now, not Mission Termination Task Force. lol

    RMC vs. CMR Traditions

Not always true, I know of a good number of people (specifically in the RMC Prep Year 2003-04) who had all the required credits as well as a good academic average (read: 85%+ in my case) who still ended up at prep year and were not from Quebec. The system sometimes works in interesting ways so...

Artillery Phase 3 and 4 Training

As it stands right now, there is a DP1.1 slated to run in Shilo this summer. I don't have the exact course dates here at home but if I'm not mistaken, it will be starting the week after Victoria day running until the first week of August or so.

Anyone have Original SWAT waterproof boots?

While I can't say yay or nay on the Original SWATs, I can tell you that I swear by my Bates M9 Assault boots, they're good through mud, snow, water, pretty much whatever you throw at them. Very sturdy boots, too.

    Applying from outside Canada (Merged)

You're not the first and you certainly won't be the last; I know people who got into RMC from as far away as England and Germany as well as several people from the States. Best of luck to you,

CAN Officer Returns to AFG With Artificial Leg

Simon, from the first time I met him, was always determined to be at his best, always working to better himself and those around him. I'm very happy to see that while his body isn't what it used to be, his spirit remains intact. He is certainly an inspiration, even for those who do not know him...

They're baaack! Ceremonial Guard inspected by the Governor General

Piper, it makes sense for the soldiers to be wearing the CFSTG command badge if they are in from Meaford. In Gagetown this past November for Rememberance Day, that was the only command badge we were permitted to wear as course candidates. The way my course programmer explain it is that since we...

Hydro and Gas Cost for Shilo PMQ

While I can't speak to the PMQ question since I live in shacks here, I can assure you that MTS is an excellent option for cell service. The level of MTS coverage in the Shilo area is quite good with fairly reasonable rates. With regards to the possibility of being posted to Gagetown, W Bty still...

Single Quarters & Rations (R&Q) [MERGED]

/rant I wanted to avoid weighing in on this however... Max, yeah, sure, living in shacks and losing half your paycheque to rations and quarters sucks but as we both know, thats something you're getting into when you sign up to go to RMC. Does the food suck? Sure, but it's a matter of perspective...

Mandatory to live on campus in University?

Well, things may have changed but I owe 5 years (now 4 years) obligatory service for my education. Best bet, ask for clarity on this from the recruiting centre.
