"The LHS, 47 percent of the SMP fleet (approx 705 trucks), is designed to load, transport, and offload 20-foot ISO containers up to the load carrying limit of 9,500 kg".

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm sure someone will :sneaky:) but TEUs are not to spend their time on a truck but rather only during transport then dropped off thereby freeing the truck to get another and another etc. If a TEU needs to be moved then the closest truck can pick it up. If that...
From some photos I've seen some fuel tanks, with a built in pump, are built into a frame which is the same dimensions and attachment points as seacans. Wouldn't this allow for a truck to drop it at a refueling point then return to get a second which would be dropped at the same point. They could...
Was there not a trial to remove the Turbine and install a diesel in the Abrams? Or is it wishful thinking?
Nevermind I see the answer above. Too slow on the draw
Sweden and the Netherlands would likely welcome partners/customers to join their development of an extended range submarine Oceanic project. It's a long shot but this may be the best opportunity to integrate a Slowpoke reactor with the Swedish Sterling power plant.
No doubt for short runs but I believe it's more about distance and what the road and higher speed friction does to the tracks/pads. (unless it's a long slow drive into Baghdad) you might save yourself some maintenance downtime via transport
I may have judged the LAV/Archer as a no go too hastily. The Boxer RCH 155 has the same 52 caliber barrel so in theory if it fits on a boxer an Archer should fit on a LAV? Plus I believe the Archer sits further back and relies on outriggers as opposed to the RCH/boxer suspension when firing
After some research the length of the Archer would likely make it impossible to install on a LAV body, LAV approx 7.5m, Archer is over 14m, so scrap this idea.
That finished product on that boat relies on a manufacturing supply chain that doesn't exist in North America.
Let's just take the toaster as an example. Who in north America makes the internal parts and external cases? No one. How about raw materials to make those parts? We ship them our mined...
