The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

The front line units are drowning in new pilots who barely know what they’re doing. Our attempts to recruit away our problems was a bit of a predictable flop.

Sexual Misconduct Allegations in The CAF

Especially when we get 2 guys in a row who held the same job title and got charged with roughly the same thing. And I think there’s even more than one of those.

    VAC wait times

My BPA Appeal hearing was 2 weeks ago… any idea how long it takes to get a decision letter after the hearing?

    CH-148 Cyclone Progress

IIRC the cormorant also had tail rotor issues (cracks) early in its life.

    Better roles for the CH-149

Yeah, but that has the advantage of staffing the command with non-aircrew. Though I doubt that was ever the reasoning.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Don’t forget the old hornets that we just bought and apparently don’t even have anyone to staff them.

    Better roles for the CH-149

435 in Winnipeg is part of 19 Wing Comox. Also the 149 is the cormorant so we’ve got this discussion in the wrong thread.

Come on, he’s not all about himself. He funnels some cash over to his family friends too.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Ditto for my non-fighter fleet; we’re drowning in First Officers, so much so that it’s a struggle keep them all current let alone keep them all progressing. More production would definitely exacerbate the situation.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

The RCAF has been bleeding pilots for at least 20 years and has made no headway despite having had immediate attention for quite some time. So I’m not sure how a new piece of crap plane would change that.

Sexual Misconduct Allegations in The CAF

I think we’re supposed to say ‘non-gender-specific genitalia.

So do they pause for the lawsuit? I remember the FWSAR continued despite a vendor lawsuit but I think it was further along and less of a political hot-potato.

Sexual Misconduct Allegations in The CAF

Yeah, over on Reddit there’s an astounding number of arguments that men weren’t eligible, apparently they listened to gossip instead of reading the thousands of posters and emails plastered everywhere.

Sexual Misconduct Allegations in The CAF

So 58% of 19000 claims is ~11,020 claims from women. And if 15.7% of 60,000 reg force is women, that’s only 9,420. Understanding that my sample size is off, there’s more people than just reg force in the pool, it seems like most of them have made a claim. That’s kinda hidden in the story about...
