Trust me simsara, if Steve D says he spoke to a CWO2 and he said the next one is in early Dec.....then I would bet the farm on it and start packing my bags. Forget what the recruiting centre said......Steve D is correct, guaranteed. If you need to narrow it down, then figure that it will be...
That sounds great.... I am sure there are others from our thread about the last NOAB in Sept/Oct who would also enjoy meeting you. I think a meet-n-greet would be a great idea...... ;D Take care gc
Thanks gc, as always, I appreciate your frank, practical advice. I love reading all your posts and I would really like it if I got to meet you some time. Thanks for all the good information.
Thanks Steve. I guess there isn't much chance that you and I would be doing NETPO at the same time is there? Oh well. Thanks for the info. I hope things are going well for you. I am still looking forward to pictures from you. Gotta see what the life looks like. Take care my friend.
Jayson poses a good question. And since there are now many MARS enrollees like myself who are starting BMOQ in January, I myself would be interested in hearing from anyone in the know about NETPO, MARS III and MARS IV start dates for 2010. Like Steve D, I am thinking about possible moving...
If I recall correctly, they told us at our NOAB that there were 2 start dates for BMOQ in January and 2 in February. BUT, it is probably quite likely that the next start after that would be in April or May. BMQ courses are run all the time it seems. BMOQ courses are not run nearly as often...
Well, I certainly don't pretend to know very much about the CF, Navy, NOABs and such, but I think the short answer to your question about delays is that nobody knows. From what I have read on this site, you will be forever faced by all sorts of timings during your career in the CF. Don't sweat...
Thanks gc, that was a very thorough answer and it helps shed some light on the situation for me. Since I am MARS, I know that I will be out west for at least the first little while in my career (assuming I don't get posted to an east coast ship after MARS IV). I don't want to get ahead of...
So how does it work for officers? My understanding was that we get to state a preference for either east or west coast. Is that different than choosing home port? I really don't know anything about home port or how things work for officers. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks.
I am with you on that one GC. I just got back from Victoria for my NOAB. Wow, what a nice place that is. I start BMOQ (going MARS) on January 11th. My hope (yes, I understand I can't count on it) is to stay in Victoria after I am done MARS IV. I was pleased to find out from a LCdr who is...
There are probably over 40 successful candidates who returned from the Sept 28 NOAB with offers from the Navy. We were told that we will be starting BMOQ on Jan 11 2010. Everybody who will be in St.Jean on that date should present themselves so we can share info and make friends before we get...
I second what Diesel said.... I take gcclarke's comment as a compliment to us for being resourceful and taking the initiative to (in a sense) start building a team of new MARS candidates. But certainly, there will be outstanding candidates who show up to the NOAB who either have never heard of...
