Movement of D, HG&E not Authorized vs. Requesting IR

Thanks guys. I had a feeling that was the case. He did apply for IR during the clearing-in, so that won't be a problem. He's at least close enough to come home on the weekends, so it's better than it could be (and will be, likely in the future at some point.)

Movement of D, HG&E not Authorized vs. Requesting IR

My husband went directly from BMOQ graduation to SLT where he'll be until the end of June 2012. AFAIK, he's not attach posted or on TD, but actually posted. I'm curious about a few things, and thought maybe you guys could help. His posting message says that as a married member he's not...

    BMOQ May 2011

My husband is 46, and is a May 9th BMOQ DEO SWO (Army). He goes to SLT at St. Jean after BMOQ. I think he's in 0059, if I read the paper correctly.

My husband will be on the May 9th - Aug 18th BMOQ course. He'll probably be the old guy ;)

Following LT into the Service? Maybe!

Thanks agc. Good to know. In the end, I may indeed end up staying in the civi-life, but I'd like to at least contemplate this. Thanks again.

Following LT into the Service? Maybe!

I wrote several responses to this, but none were suitable. Suffice it to say, thank you for presenting an alternate view, though it doesn't help answer any of my questions.

Following LT into the Service? Maybe!

I've really appreciated this forum over the last several months, and I'm hoping you guys can help me with some of my questions. For background, my husband had his swearing in ceremony 2 weeks ago, and heads off to BMOQ on May 7th to begin his career as a Social Work Officer with the forces. As...

    Army Life, Here We Come!

I've got a BSc in Liberal Studies with Areas of Focus in Admin/Management Studies and Computer Info Systems. It's a US degree, so I'm not completely sure what it would evaluate to on this side of the border. When I got it, it was simply to serve as a check-box filler. He selected land. He and...

    Army Life, Here We Come!

He's never been anything but supportive of me while I was floundering around in a career that, though it paid well, I grew to loathe, so I could do nothing but the same for him. (It has absolutely nothing to do with what BMOQ might do to his physique, or what he'll look like in a uniform. ;))...

    Army Life, Here We Come!

I've only posted a couple times on this board, but I wanted to express thanks for all the information provided here. It has helped immensely with our somewhat short but no less crazy journey. My husband is joining as a DEO Social Worker, has his swearing in ceremony on Tuesday, and starts BMOQ...

    Social Worker Officer occupation

Thanks! We're not surprised to hear about the Res not having SW Officers. We knew about the civ SW option (he was looking briefly at that right after graduation). He does have alot of counselling and assessment experience. He's decided to take a day off next week to talk to the Recruiter sooner...

    Social Worker Officer occupation

My husband has been contemplating for a couple years now entering the military as a Social Work Officer. We're now looking more seriously at what options / opportunities might be available to him, considering his qualifications. We know he needs to visit the local Reserve Unit / Recruiting...
