I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but chances are almost 100% you will write your autobiography again anyway (if not two or three more times. We did it just to kill time). It SHOULD be in a pad format that you tear off. The 8 3/8 pad you mentioned should be fine.

Speaking from experience, I personally was selected for my trade after the posted selection date (at least the one I knew about!)

Point being you'll either be posted to:
Shiloh or Edmonton (PPCLI)
Valcartier (R22R)
Gagetown or Petawawa (RCR)
Depending on which division you'll be. There is really no way of knowing until then :)

My thought is no. Many people in my RC were dressed similarly for their interviews.
Like the old saying goes: dress like you already have the job. If you take it seriously and dress like you want it, the interviewer is far more likely to take you seriously.
