Recruitment Allowances for Understrength Military Occupations Aug 2008

I almost choked on my food when I saw this message. I re-enrolled in 2007.  Was a NESOP before, QL5 qualified.  I rejoined as a NESOP again thinking it would accelerate some parts along the way.  God was I wrong.  Had to do my QL3 again, NETP and next would be QL4 in March.  Only got 56 days...

    Navy Int Ops?

If you are working on a degree right now...may I suggest Intelligence Officer instead.  If I' am not mistaking they are those in charge of the Int Ops. For the Navy side, NESOP and the IMD would be the customers of those Int Ops.  I also am not sure if it is a direct entry trade.  Trade was...

Questions about HMCS Regina and Halifax Class ships in general

It's not really an explosion per say.  It's the air pressure created from the ingnition of the booster.  That was a surprise for pretty much everyone.  Not many people in the Canadian military had the chance to see an Harpoon shoot.

    NCI OP vs NES OP

May I suggest we get back to the subject? I just came back from RIMPAC 2008, it was a good trip.  Many new ports for me anyway. Bottom line, 2 different trades that makes a great team if they work together.  The best way to pick a trade, in my opinion,  is to find a passionate guy in the trade...

    F-22 or F-35

How long can we keep flying our current F-18  safely....? It seems to me that whenever Canada is trying to choose a piece of equipment, we are always stuck with the choice of multiple role platforms.  We have such a small budget for the the amount of roles and territory that we have to cover...

    Dion's opinions/garble.

Let me see...They support us (military), they don't cancel a contract for helicopters that we need anyway... Maybe we should have Dion give us a speech live from Afghanistan.  Wait can't do that, it's way too dangerous.  People get shot over there.  For the people that are still debating if we...

Verification of Former Service (VFS) [Merged]

Weird thing happen today, I got my posting message today (HMCS Ottawa).  They addressed the message as me being an AB.  Is a message reliable in terms of information on it?  If I show up on the ship with these on my shoulder, can I get in trouble?

Need help tracking an email origin

Hi everyone, This is a special request.  Long story short...13 years ago my girlfriend at the time got pregnant.  It's basically when I decided to transfert reg force.  While in BMQ, she cheated on me and ended up leaving me.  (Basic military story).  So when my son was born, I was in Halifax...

    CH-148 Cyclone Progress

I don't want to burst your bubble, but who do you think handles air defence most of the time?  Don't get me wrong.  I don't like having to rely on other nations to complete our battle group.  But it's just the way it is right now. There is more to ASUW capabilities than just putting missiles on...

    CH-148 Cyclone Progress

I may be wrong, but I don't think we would be getting ASM capability.  As our navy is more a defensive type navy.  Can't go really deep in details but it would be hard for us to support an Helo doing OTHT.  They would be pretty much alone out there and it's just not the way we do things. On...
