Well i got called today and i get on a plane for basic 6:30 Sunday morning. Tomorrow i go in to pick up my plane ticket and stuff. Its gonna be a busy weekend because i work Friday and all day Saturday so i wont have much time to pack up. Before I know it ill be there.

Hey thanks for the advice. I was told to show up in uniform so ill give them a call on monday and ask them what i should do, whether that be come in early or what not.

I got to go to my unit on Tuesday evening in my uniform but i do not know how to properly tuck my trousers into my boots or whatever you do. Could someone tell me how im supposed to? Thanks.

I got all my kit today. I had three garbage bags full and a trunk. They gave me a lot of stuff.

Quick question here, does one need parental consent when picking up their kit? like i gotto go to 17 wing in Winnipeg tomorrow and i got my id and everything. I was just wondering if i need a parent or not.

so does one get their kit on the same day as swearing in?

Its useless but look at countries like Russia and China with huge militaries that do nothing out side there borders. Im not saying we should have a military of that size. Just wondered how Spain could afford all those capabilities with a budget similar to ours.

Ok makes sense. I thought about the pay thing too. It had me wondering though because there a modern professional military that spends around the same as Canada.

Hey I have a quick question here. How is it that the Spanish Armed Forces have a defence budget relatively similar to our own but have over double the man power, More aircraft, equipment, vessels, etc. Just curious

The lady at CFRC that called me said the change was effective immediately and i cannot enroll until im 17

I'm aware of the waiting, but here in Winnipeg they said i would've most likely made the summer bmq. I have already done my CFAT and medicals and everything. My next step would've being the enrollment ceremony. Thanks for the advice though  :salute:

CFRC just called me to say that enlistment age for the reserves changed from 16 to 17. There gonna hold my file till sept 1st than i can decide what im gonna do. I'll most likely wait till i graduate and join the regular force.
