Pipeline Thru Canada to Midwest On Track

"Mackenzie Valley, the best and cheapest?......"not quite accurrate.  Read my earlier post. "In 15 years we'll probably have two pipelines............"correct, but in less than 15.

Pipeline Thru Canada to Midwest On Track

Actually NG (unlike Oil) can only be moved efficiently in large quantities by pipeline.  However, as I stated previous, the Alliance pipeline is already in place.  The construction of the Alaska Highway portion of the pipeline will probably be announced within a year or so.  That it is going to...

Pipeline Thru Canada to Midwest On Track

Actually the pipeline is already built.  It is known as the Alliance Pipeline.  It runs from north of Fort St John, BC to Chicago.  It crosses the border somewhere in Sask.  It is 'stubbed off' north of FSJ waiting for the Alaska HW portion to be constructed. Alliance Pipeline was originally a...

    Your Body Weight

Use the shuttle run.  The weight thing doesn't mean much.  There's no BS with the SR; either your conditioned and tough or your not.  Sometimes people justify their weight by that's their 'body type'. I've found that the leaner types struggle less with the conditioning etc.

    Your Body Weight

Agreed that the BMI is probably 'skewed'.  For all those posting their weights etc., where are you on the 20M shuttle and/or the 13K ruck?

    Cadet Dress in Public

"For those interested, a new Cadet pattern field uniform has been designed and available here in Canada. To see a sample of it and to get a price list plus order form, go to The Army Cadet League of Canada, British Columbia Branch web page at www.armycadetleague.bc.ca" The above is very...

    are there any hunters here?

Why would a Canadian take a hunting or fishing trip to the US?  They don't have anything that can compare to Canada.  I remember reading a few articles in the 'Western Horseman' as per pack horse trips in the western US.  They were just laughable compared to Alberta, BC or the Yukon.

    Reserve A-stan Tour in 2007; 36 bde

Sorry on that one.  It was late last night when I posted the info and I wasn't as careful as I should have been.  I meant to say that the Brigade Comm was a Canadian.  I realize that it is not a 'Reserve Deployment' per se.  The LER is supposed to have a D&S platoon.  The SALH suppling BHQ...

    Reserve A-stan Tour in 2007; 36 bde

The next deploment for reserves that I'm aware of is Feb 2006 to Afgan as a Canadian will be the Brigadier for the NCE.  SALH and LER are suppling a sizable number for this.

    are there any hunters here?

Actually out here in the Rockies Caribou is considered 'poor eating'.  Now these are Mt Caribou and I assume that you guys are referring to "baren ground' Caribou.  As far as Mountan sheep, where we live they are mostly thin horn ie Stone Sheep.  There are Dall sheep north of us and Rocky Mt...

Medak Pocket (info, documentaries, etc. - merged)

Thanks, I'll check that.  Be sure to check the illustration in the "History of the SALH"  It's good!  Also on page 238 there is a photo of four LH personnel on a knocked out Serbian Tank.  BTW:  A number of SALH are now preparing to deploy to Afgan.

Medak Pocket (info, documentaries, etc. - merged)

As per the "Medak Pocket" see "Century of Service: The History of the SALH" page 236 uniforms of the SALH..... " M/Cpl., Combat Dress, Serving with UNPROFOR, Medak Pocket, Croatia, 1993" by Donald Graves.  ( A close friend of mine was involved in the research) I'm curious as to the casualties...

REGULAR OFFICER TRAINING PLAN ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN RAISED.

I was aware that Sandhurst was not a degree granting institution aka RMC/West Point.  I was curious as to what % of Sandhurst Grads were U grads.  Thanks for filling that in.  I was also told that RAF Officers only do 3 or 4 months compared to a full year for the Army.  Is that correct?
