So you're saying after DP1 we're responsible for our own living arrangements? Perhaps I'm making assumptions from army movies but I was under the impression that they would transport all of the new Privates to their new base immediately after DP1 and you would be staying in the barracks while there.

Excited to know who else is going for BMQ on September 4 (arrival September 2, actual start date September 4). I have not seen other members posting similar BMQ dates.

Another question though. Is there a lot of classroom work in BMQ/DP1, and if so, is there a lot of note-taking required? Is it worth it to practice my handwriting skills before I leave for BMQ?
Do you know where in Canada I'm likely to be posted? Would it be near where I live (Toronto)? Also, what are the chances of being deployed on subsequent tours into a combat zone? How long does one specific tour last?
After DP1, does Infantry typically get posted within Canada or overseas? I always assumed that the whole purpose of Infantry was to directly engage the enemy in combat.
