    C3 Howitzer Replacement

Those are some interesting ideas, I know you are biggest contributor to future tech thread. If we are just talking about increasing range, 105 ammo seems to be near an end, it is tough to guide, but smaller calibers with a sabot is doable for sure. Not much punch, but if you're very accurate you...

    C3 Howitzer Replacement

The newer generation catching on to digital easily is very true, probably teaching the instructors a thing or two on some occasions. Good thing our current AIGs aren't as crusty and resistant to change as the old guard. I don't have much concerns with not getting our skills back or changing...

    C3 Howitzer Replacement

Not sure if 119 shrinks the training gap to 777. The common ground is (as you say) FCS, but that essentially boils down to the user interface and software/firmware. If we did get the 119, we would probably get and develop our own FCS (similar to 777). Even with our C3 and LG1s, you can train...

looking for a printable artillery cap badge

I realize it's too late, but for future or anyone else, here is a png file, 2MB. This was replicated by a graphic artist. Should blow up fairly well to the size you mention above. You could also use a projector and make it as big as you want. For anyone interested in this type of thing...

Using a projector on a screen works good too.

looking for a printable artillery cap badge

Does look good on page, but very small file i.e. seems no resolution. It likely won't (pardon pun) blow up nicely. A few of us have wrestled with this recently trying to get images that blow up and retain detail for large (2'x3' prints). Not possible without graphic artists or very expensive...

    Mortars: 51 mm, 60 mm, 81 mm, 120 mm & more

FJAG hit some very good points above that I agree with entirely. The 120mm is a very real option for either branch, but given our size, the 120mm would be better managed in the Arty, leaving the 81mm with Infantry Bns for their own immediate support. The 105mm, while still valid, mostly...

looking for a printable artillery cap badge

The free option would be to find someone in J-7 that already has one, or can get one made. I may be able to help. If I get something I'll PM you. Or better yet, PM me so I don't forget.  Another option that may cost unless you know someone would be to get a graphic artist to recreate it...

Defining Foreign and Defence Policy (and hence our Military Force)

I don't think I can be done effectively. This would apply to any capability.  The civs have the knowledge, but have no idea how the military works or what they need. The military folks know how the military works, but won't get the expertise, either because they will move on before getting it or...

Defining Foreign and Defence Policy (and hence our Military Force)

That is quite the rag! Read this article too. It's a couple years old, but I doubt they have changed their mind since then. There are a few doozies in there. "A Canadian Defence and Security Policy for the 21st Century" http://www.ceasefire.ca/?p=20741

That is good news. Hopefully we can herd the cats.

Defining Foreign and Defence Policy (and hence our Military Force)

Also didn't see anything about increasing the civilians that it will take to integrate all this stuff, particularly the C2. Have to read thoroughly tomorrow.

Defining Foreign and Defence Policy (and hence our Military Force)

If we are to conduct coalition and joint operations and the minimum size force to execute this for the army is a brigade (4800), why is the largest force element in the concurrent operations 1500?

    All Things Air Defence/AA (merged)

The CRAM and AD against fast movers must remain with the Arty, for many reasons, but sadly, even if we did have the equipment, our PY strength would probably be barely enough for point defence (in a sustained Op), certainly not a dispersed Op. Counter UAV is a different story, which I can make...

    All Things Air Defence/AA (merged)

It comes down to what the manouevre force wants to do. The Inf can soak up tasks, which is fine, but as I said before, they will run out of rifles; and we haven't even got into comms and coord yet. Having a single corps manage and train all the tasks mentioned is unmanageable at best...
