Boomer, having completed five Nijmegen Marches, and a bunch of other endurance type events, with the issue combat boots, I feel your pain. Couldn't resist the pun. Blisters have a great way of hobbling even the otherwise most fit individuals. I had to learn the hard way how to pick and prep my...
It's back again for 2010, and for six-weeks this summer vice just July.

Didn't see this on the site. Little primer on some highlights of the unique Canadian/American relationship - done as a lead up to the NBC Olympic coverage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYoTJItSPt0
Cheers.
"...There is going to be a flurry of finger pointing over this one. All the signs were there. Why this asshole was allowed to draw money from his government is unreal. That his job was to assist with the mental well being of soldiers is staggering. Surely his rank and religion could not have...
Since you say he was your 'ex,' is it not possible that he might have known what you 'typically' use for a password(s) and he could have actually been logging into your account? The user ID for Facebook is simply your name, so he'd only have to guess/know the password you were using.
Great post and good luck in the trade.
With 20+ years as a rubberhead (now retired) I can give you the definitive history of the term. Not many people know it, as the cause of the nickname is long gone. Your PPCLI friend is way off... the expression goes back far before computer screens were...
"...CSOR had a hand in training the assault team," confirmed Lieutenant-Commander Walter Moniz, the spokesman for Canadian Special Operations Forces Command in Ottawa...." http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=1516241
"...Matthew Fisher actually takes time to learn about us, rather than calling everything that moves on the ground a tank...."
Very true. Years ago Mr. Fisher wrote an article from Darwin Australia, while covering our contingent that was going to East Timor. He visited a local Commonwealth War...
Calgary Herald is reporting that the JDF forces who resolved the incident were likely trained by CSOR. I don't think we expected this quick and direct a return on our investment. Dollars well spent, I'd say. ...
Looks like the Griffon pilots were certainly having some fun. Must be nice to have a place with no trees, power lines, and worries about noise complaints. Mind you, if you get into trouble, the terrain can be very unforgiving.
At the same time, you will likely be asked if you have researched the trade. Keep to the facts and don't make a big thing about 'sensitive documents.' That document is published to the 'public' side of the AEL. Any chatter on these forums about the document/doctrine and how it is applied in...
Same at the theater I attended in an Ottawa suburb. Prior to the movie there was a high school band, and a number of the theater personnel dressed in period civilian clothing. They did a Q&A competition with the audience. Winners got a movie poster for Passchendaele. I was happy to see that...
I'll second that. We made a trip out west using the promotion, and was pleasantly surprised by the train service on the Montreal-Ottawa-TO route. Not sure if I'd do comfort class from TO to Vancouver again - but it was always one of things I wanted to do, and thanks to VIA I can cross it off...
The Dutch military union goes back decades, at least the end of WWII, when they used to have conscription. It was decided that if they were going to force young men into the Army then there should be some sort of organization that would look after their rights, as conscripts. The Dutch only...
I sympathize with you, my wife is ATIS, and deployed out of Leitrim for a number of years on Hurricane. She also did 3-months at Alert. Both Hurricane and standard Alert time counted towards her SSM. She was up there when they were crating up all the barrels from the 30-40 years of not being...
