My time as an English soldier in Quebec City

I'm glad to see some people arguing the positives of the posting. It creates a well formed and balanced debate for curious soldiers.

But I'd like to prepare outside of the gym too  :(

    QL3's

I'm about to CT to Combat Engineer in 2-3 weeks and am going straight to QL3 (Sept or Oct Course hopefully). I was wondering if someone could send me a sample course schedule? PM me and I can provide my forces email.

What's the worst that could happen?

As stated before, the disobediance of a lawfull command could stick. Also what could apply here is everyone's favorite: 103.60 – CONDUCT TO THE PREJUDICE OF GOOD ORDER AND DISCIPLINE (NDA 129) But if the kid is a real piece of work then he/she could get this depending on the situation: 103.31...

    interview

There's no way to "prepare" for the interview because it's about you! The CF wants to know about you and your life. Don't over think this, I just had mine for Reg Force and it lasted about 25-30 minutes and I talked to the PSO like a person. So relax and for heavens sake tell the truth.

Military training; from civilian to Lt.

My general understanding is that reservist officers only train to Phase 3 with phase 4 being 'reserved' for Regular Force members only. At least this is the case with my MOC. Also, Phase 3's usually last an entire summer and that's the only time most reservists ave off or take their vacation...

Running: Training, Problems, Techniques, Questions, etc

Does anyone know the requirements needed in order to obtain orthodic inserts? I've tried countless times to get proper pairs on running shoes, used countless lacing techniques to relieve pressure. But I can't find a good pair that won't cause either pain while running or cause numbness of my...

Discovery Channel : psychology of people killing in the combat zone.

The documentary is based highly around Grossman's book: On Killing. http://www.amazon.com/Killing-Psychological-Cost-Learning-Society/dp/0316330116/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-9319183-6270445?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1183470109&sr=8-1

No it doesn't cover what I was talking about. Reread those sections you quoted. They refer to pregnency leave and parental leave only. That quote has nothing to do with reserve leave.

    COMPONENT TRANSFER - Pay protection

OK, to complicate the issue more... On Monday I did my interview with the PSO at the local recruiting. One question that was brought up was pay, namely pay protection. Now I was told that pay protection existed. Granted I didn't get it in writing and thats everything but prior to enrollment I'd...

    Reservists Job Protection Superthread

Yes it does cover resumption of work, but it does not cover position holding. Which means that when a reservist returns from tour it does not gaurantee they will be doing the same job as before. Therefore, while their civi employer has to hire them back, they are not bound to give them their...

Planning to pursue career of MPO pls help me.

    1. Yes 2. There's more than 6 positions open. 3. Anywhere's the military wants, were not the RCMP. 4. Yes. Your work ethic and skill. 5. Not sure myself, most I've seen at once was about 40. 6. A lot, but they are NCM's not Officers. So I think the point is moot. The Milnet MP forums will...

    Reservists Job Protection Superthread

Prior to the third reading of the bill I was able to talk to the CFLC NS Liason Capt.(N) W. I brought to his attention a lot of interpretations and definitions that had to be outlined prior to the approval of the Bill. He asked me what I thought about it, as he was going to talk to the local...
