    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

Meanwhile the US pivots once more on their frigate program. I suspect that any "Good idea fairy" in the vicinity will be shot on sight. https://news.usni.org/2025/12/19/secnav-new-frigate-will-be-based-on-national-security-cutter-first-ffx-to-be-built-at-ingalls

The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

Even today in the US, the average legal machine gun goes for around $20,000, not to mention the cost of feeding such a thing. Average deaths by long guns of any type in the US is around 400 per year. That's about 1.01 people killed out of a million people a year.

    Replacing the Subs

Of course if a company is making a specialized dishwasher for the subs, it is making "Submarine components" In the early 2000's Canadian shipbuilding companies were making components for hydro dams as they were the only ones in country with the abilty to produce custom shaped large diameter...

    Replacing the Subs

A decent graphic for the average Canadian who does not follow defense matters. The image of the 212CD is rather odd.

Public service employment has grown by 31 per cent

It can be very challenging to enforce "Black Letter law" on a large multi-national corporation that has minimal commitment to the country it is operating in. The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Does give us the abilty to reduce the order and supplement with something else. Or reduce the current order , then wait awhile till a more friendlier administration comes in and start talking about additional aircraft. I have to wonder about our ability to absorb and operate 88 new fighters...

Public service employment has grown by 31 per cent

So in your view a "Business" rests completely outside of any good citizenship framework that we expect from all other mentally competent citizens?

The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

Gun control operates on the premise of "We are only taking a slice of your bread" , but they keep coming back, because their intent is to get the whole loaf.

    Political impacts of Ukraine war

I noticed that trend sometime ago and stated that such systems needed a SHORAD network to travel under and enough SHORAD systems to be able to leapfrog each other and setup ahead of the movement of the main system.

Public service employment has grown by 31 per cent

The problem is that many companies do not want to have any "civic or social obligations" to the communities they operate in. The slash, burn and run mindset often leaves a trail of destruction behind and can hinder many other companies from operating successfully from the physical and fiscal...

CAN-USA Tariff Strife (split from various pol threads)

The last 60 days of the life of the animal would make a good benchmark for country of origin. Most cattle spend much of their lives on the range, until the last few months, where they are fattened up in the stock yards.
