The Ten Commandments of RMS Clerks

Absolutely agree, G2G.  I'll give a real-life example from this past week (my last post on this tonight as it is getting to be waaay past my bedtime ;)).  I was booking flights for pilots going to the UK for a week of sim trg.  I had the option of booking a direct red-eye flight (arriving the...

The Ten Commandments of RMS Clerks

Well, ballz, I guess I can live with your low esteem of me.  After all, you have no idea what I am like in real life, both personally and professionally, and therefore, your opinion of what I 'forward' isn't going to pop my happy balloon.  ;)  Have a nice day.

The Ten Commandments of RMS Clerks

Very true.  I serve them and their admin/fin needs, therefore they are my 'customers'.  I am a soldier, too, and usually the other members are cognizant of that (except maybe on civvy Fridays).  ;) One additional point I forgot to mention above ~ I agree that it is crappy to make someone wait...

The Ten Commandments of RMS Clerks

Wow, I did not expect this volume of responses, let alone such ferocity.  :)  Clearly, some members have issues with their ORs. FYI, folks:  I posted this because I thought it was cute/funny, albeit in an exaggerated way.  I didn't write it and don't agree with all of it.  It just gave me a...

The Ten Commandments of RMS Clerks

I don't take any credit for this one, but thought it was funny...RMS clerks in particular should enjoy it.  ;D THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF RMS CLERKS In these times of downsizing, trade-merging and doing more with less, resulting in unrealistic expectations customers place on clerks, it's time...

What if your CT doesn't go through?

I applied in Jan of 2011 and after getting the initial word that my application was rec'd, I heard nothing until late Nov...and that was when I got my CT offer for this past Feb.  As Spazz said, your CoC should not count a possible CT into the equation at all...it can take years to get an offer...

    Section 32/34 Training

I am going to have a credit card and as one of the duty clerks, I will likely have to do some purchasing, yes.  That is the intent of my taking the CCC.  The 32/34 is more of an 'it's a nice thing to have', but the other one is a 'must have'.  What unit? :)

PMV and Travel Limits While on TD

It's been less than a year since I was working in a Res OR and I'm very surprised to find out that this is not authorized anymore for Reservists.  This was standard procedure when I was doing the Route Letters and TD Claims for our PRes mbrs (and for my own courses in Borden) - the first day of...

    Section 32/34 Training

I'm going to have to inquire about this at work on Monday.  I am supposed to be doing the 32/34 and the Contracting Certification Course in the very near future (maybe next week, if I can find the time) and haven't heard anything about this new course replacing the CCC.  I also was not told...

PMV and Travel Limits While on TD

Really?  Maybe it was just the old one that was no longer available then.  I will have a look at it when I am at work tomorrow.  Thanks!

PMV and Travel Limits While on TD

Unfortunately, the CFTDI is no longer available online.  You have to email someone to request a copy of it.  We keep a physical copy in the OR as a reference along with any related Canforgens.

PMV and Travel Limits While on TD

It is up to the fin code holder.  If authorized POMV, a waiver will be signed by the mbr and a cost comparison will be done by the clerks.  Depending on the reasons for and distance of POMV travel (how many days it will take), it may or may not be approved.  Prepare to be told "no" and please do...

The real Story : 1 night in SAR

Excellent article!  Thank you for posting it.  BZ to all involved in these rescue efforts - SAR techs, pilots, FEs, AVN/AVS techs (who maintain the aircraft), and our unit CO who was on board for BOTH missions!  Great job!!  :salute:

SAR Response Under the Gun Again
