    Selection Board?

Do the officer VOT selection boards happen with the DEO selection boards? Trying to switch to ACSO and I was told the selection board would happen in July (no specifics). The above post makes me feel hopeful that I'll hear soon, but I'm not 100% on how the VOT selection boards play with the...

    Aerospace Control Officers-AEC [merged]

Does anybody know, for ROTP students, if we can do a summer OJT at a Navy Base, specifically CFB Esquimalt, to see how the MFC operate? Or are they posted out of 443 in Pat Bay? Thanks.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

ACSO doesn't require a specific degree. I know a couple ACSO's in English currently so you should be good to go.

    Aerospace Control Officers-AEC [merged]

So I've been looking at going into Maritime Fighter Control (MFC), however, I'm having some trouble finding much, if any, information about it. As far as I understand, it's not a first tour posting and it follows an Air Weapons stream. As for getting there, I believe I input a preference during...

Long story short, they'll put you where they need you. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. If you don't like your offer, decline it.

    Aerospace Control Officers-AEC [merged]

I'm currently in my first year at RMC, accepted as an AEC. I'm really looking into heading towards the Air Weapons stream, however, previously it was mentioned that it might be closed for a while because of the demand for it. This post dated back a couple years, so I was wondering if there was...

Coming from somebody who has written and passed the test, definitely work on your math. The math problems are more challenging than the ones on the CFAT. Did you not get a CAPSS Study Guide? Your ability to recognize and understand some of the instruments from that guide will also be on the...

    ROTP 2011-2012

Very excited to be flying out tomorrow! I sent my unaccompanied baggage this morning. It was just a duffle bag. I'm bringing a suit case and a backpack with me to St. Jean.(Also a laptop bag, but that's all being confiscated. I just felt a bit hesitant to send my electronics in an unaccompanied...

It should be fine. They focus mainly on grade 11 and 12 marks. Those are the marks that reflect how motivated and hard working you are now. Even if your average isn't stellar, make sure you have a well-rounded application. I think my average when I graduated was only in mid 70's. But I had lots...

    got a question about rmc.

Don't quit. That's my advice. Do as much as you can in the next few days. Go to Orientation and see how you do. Personally, I perform better when other people are around. If you don't pass, then you don't pass. Move on from there. But don't count yourself out just yet. For all you know, you'll...

2 week orientation camp before RMC

http://www.cflrs.forces.gc.ca/menu/pd/bic-cib/index-eng.asp That's a link to the information booklet that was sent to me. Recruit camp is basically a 2 week introduction course to the military. It's held at the same place as BMOQ so a lot of this information is relevant to the Orientation Camp...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Simple answer, yes. There's more candidates that pass ASC than there are available slots for Pilot. I passed the ACSO Exam and was offered my 3rd choice as AEC instead. Happens all the time.

Preparing for a possible future in the RMC

Yes, an average like that you are eligible to get accepted to RMC. However, work on rounding out your application as well. Volunteering, sports, music etc. They will also look at how you perform on your medical, CFAT and interview.(ACSO Exam and ASC if you're applying for ACSO or Pilot.) Get...
