C3 Howitzer Replacement

I'd love to know more about exactly why Van Riper considers Berger's plan "dumber than dirt".

In his (in)famous Red Team win in Millennium Challenge 2002 he overwhelmed the Blue Team fleet with a barrage of missiles followed up by small boat attacks. In some ways isn't the goal of the Marine Littoral Regiments somewhat similar? Use asymmetrical tactics to overcome the strengths of the enemy force?

BELL 412SP/EP/EPI​

This is the “next generation” Bell 412SP (Special Performance), with its Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6T-3BF engines, reliably performs in the most extreme climates on the planet every day. From its research and experience of its older predecessor, the Bell 212, this Special Performance version of the Bell 412 features larger fuel capacity and higher takeoff weight than the standard model. Each of our Bell 412 helicopters come with a BLR Fastfin.
Its expansive cabin can be configured to accommodate either cargo or personnel. Its wide opening 7.7 foot doors accommodate forklift loading into a 220 cubic foot cabin.

CRUISE SPEED: 150 mph (130 kts)
FUEL CONSUMPTION: 425 L/hr.

I’m not tracking the 412 SP relevance to the Mission Master?
 
Problem with UGV's is that you still need people to maintain them and load and unload them. Not to mention recover them and guard them when the road is blocked. In other words the manpower saving is minimal for logistical vehicles. Now for mine clearance, breaching, UXO and very specialised tasks, then UGV make excellent sense.

CH146 Griffon (Canada's Light Utility Helicopter) is broadly similar to the Bell 412 EP which has a hook rated at 1360 kg (3000 lb)

An unloaded Griffon could sling load an autonomous Mission Master forward, to a secure location, then release the UGV to make its own way to an RV with a 300 to 600 kg payload.

I'm not sure of lots of things. But I am sure that lots of things can be done if they are done differently.

How big a crew is really needed? Perhaps it depends on the mission?

Zero? 1 with an AI back up? A full crew of four at risk to deliver a package?
