    Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ship AOPS

I spent about 20 years reviewing big projects so I do get the economic angle. However it's also a chicken and egg thing. Without infrastructure, there is no or little opportunity. In B.C. we had a number of premiers especially WAC Bennet who understood this and invested a lot in infrastructure...

    Replacing the Subs

I like that the KS-111 comes with a VLS system as standard.

The lack of interest in Ontario's North is utterly shocking. No other Province was better setup in the 1970-80's to push north, but they utterly failed to do so. I give credit to Quebec in having better Northern infrastructure than Ontario.

Are you assuming the Taliban did not have Subs?

Kitimat sort had that with Methenex. Prince Rupert now has bunkering service. The problem is that refined product has to come from Aberta, Prince George or Alaska. There is also limited shore space for tankage and very limited space to run yet another pipeline beside the Skeena. We do need a...

Thing about LNG, it's transported overland as Natural Gas in a pipeline. so pushing it to Churchill instead makes more sense. The NG can be turned into LNG by a floating facility and stored ashore in tanks. Interestingly enough LNG tanks are insulated and that is enough to keep the LNG stable...

Major investments in Community centres, recreation activities, airports, communications, water, power and sewer. Plus roads and port facilities. During the Western Arctic exploration phase, they even had a floating drydock up there. That would be a goal worth aiming for at some existing port.

He did acknowledge that Canada currently has one of the larger fleets, but the reason for that larger fleet has less to do about the Arctic and more about ice affecting Eastern Canada's ports. If Canada was a parent and the arctic our child, likley the child would be seized by the ministry and...

    Hamas invaded Israel 2023

Any protest that does not block traffic, directly intimidate peoples movement or block access I am ok with. If they want to move from one location to the next and need to block streets for a couple of minutes while they move, I can live with that. But if you purposely block traffic, not ok with...

Not to mention the navy AOP's are ill-suited for all of the CCG other missions like navaid work.

2022 CPC Leadership Discussion: Et tu Redeux

The local Conservative nomination here was a close, hard but fairly fought fight between two contenders.

Canada doesn’t matter to the rest of the world - and it’s our own fault

Yes if you types had only gone back after building the railway and providing support services for the goldrush, then everything would have been perfect.....
